Georg Fischer Omicron S.r.l.

Since 1967, butt fusion machines for pipes and fittings in gas and water distribution as well as in plumbing and industrial applications have been designed and produced in Caselle di Selvazzano, near Padua, in the North East of Italy. About 50 skilled people are employed in the GF Omicron plant, taking care of the complete product chain, from ideas to product shipment.


Georg Fischer Omicron Srl is an Italian company belonging to the Swiss Group Georg Fischer AG since 2001. For more than 40 years we have been developing, manufacturing and marketing welding systems for pipes and fittings in plastic materials (PE, PP, PVDF) for water and gas distribution, and for industrial and sanitary applications.

As a result of an extensive know-how and wealth of experience developed in years, Georg Fischer Omicron is today the global competence center of the Georg Fischer Group in welding of plastic materials, through butt-fusion, electro-fusion and infrared technologies. The company owns facilities dedicated to Research and Development, working in close cooperation with the Swiss Headquarter and primary national and international testing laboratories. About 95% of production is exported and distributed abroad through the worldwide sales company network of the Georg Fischer Group.

The Georg Fischer AG group was founded more than 200 years ago. It is present in Italy since 1947 with two sales offices (“Georg Fischer spa” for Piping Systems division and “Agie Charmilles spa” for Agie Charmilles division) and three modern production plants belonging to the Piping Systems division (Georg Fischer Omicron Srl, Georg Fischer Pfci, Georg Fischer TPA srl). The total workforce in Italy consists of approximately 300 employees with an annual consolidated turnover of more than 100 million Euro.
