Stormwise

Sustainable stormwater management solution to prevent flooding and pollution of water sources.

Protect what you love GF

Stormwise is a stormwater management solution that helps designers and water network professionals to design sustainable projects to prevent flooding and pollution of water sources.

The increasing rainfall and heavier storms are putting our cities at risk of floods. Uncontrolled runoffs can damage the neighbourhoods and contaminate our water reservoirs.

Heavy rains collect all kinds of nasty things from the streets and into the stormwater drains. Things like cigarette butts, chemicals, motor oil, litter and many different kinds of organic materials. If the stormwater is not treated properly, they all flow directly to water sources and water recipients.

GF Stormwise has an extensive selection of solutions and products to manage and prevent sudden floodings and to treat stormwater to help water professional to solve their stormwater challenges.

GF Stormwise makes it easier to protect what you love.

Treatment

Filter Chamber

The filter chamber features a modular filter capable of removing

  • Metals
  • Bacteria
  • Phosphorus
  • Oil
  • Particles

Designed for use in areas with high purification requirements, such as parking lots, busy road sections, factory areas, and similar locations.

Fulfils DWA-A 102-2 category III, (tested at IKT, Germany)

Low maintenance is required, with emptying and cleaning needed once a year and filter replacement every 3–5 years

Oil separator

  • Different sizes for up to 30000 square meters of area.
  • Class 1, CE-marked
  • Connections DN 110-600.
  • For traffic load areas
  • Flexible riser system
  • Alarm system
  • For sewer or with the integrated by-pass system for stormwater management

Vortex

  • Efficiently collects solids and floating impurities
  • Prevents pollutants from entering water bodies
  • Reduces maintenance requirements for natural stormwater treatment systems
  • Features a simple design and easy maintenance

Vault

  • Efficiently collects solids and floating impurities
  • Prevents pollutants from entering water bodies
  • Fulfils DWA-A 102-2, category III (tested at IKT, Germany)
  • Reduces maintenance requirements for natural stormwater treatment systems
  • Designed with a simple construction for easy maintenance

Retention

Retention tanks

  • Retention tanks enable monitoring of water volume, sludge removal, and regular inspection.
  • Ideal for water retention, especially in the urban environment where space is limited.
  • High-capacity solutions available, with tank diameters of up to 3.5 meters and lengths customized to meet customer needs.
  • Tanks are resistant to rot, rust, and corrosion caused by chemical or electrical reactions in the soil.
  • Accumulated sludge can be removed from the tank via service hatches.

Harvesting

Harvesting tanks

  • A harvesting tank is used to save stormwater to be used for irrigation or other technical uses where drinking water is not needed.
  • Often used in combination with filters and pumps that fit the specific purpose.
  • Tailor-made tanks produced with Weholite technology, can be in any dimension up to 3,5 meters and length based on the requirements.

Marine outfalls

Stormwater outfall pipelines

  • Outfall pipelines are made of Weholite, a layered pipe with smooth outer and inner casings.
  • Weholite pipelines are corrosion-free with good chemical resistance and have a lifespan of over 100 years.
  • Fast on-site installation saves time and money, while lightweight materials allow for easy handling.
  • Fully recyclable and approved by Insta Cert and Nordic Polymark for quality assurance.

Success stories

A pilot project to clean stormwater

Heinola, Finland

In recent years, stormwater quality management has become an increasingly important part of urban stormwater strategies. A pilot project was launched in Heinola to clean stormwater with innovative filter chambers developed by GF.

At the same time, valuable research data will be collected on stormwater quality from two different types of areas and on the treatment results achieved with filter chambers.

A stormwater tank with large capacity

Järvastaden, Sweden

One of the biggest stormwater tanks in Sweden, with an impressive capacity of 2180 cubik in dimension DN2000 SN4 Weholite was installed in Solna.  The stormwater tank is the result of an extensive process that included several services and expertise in dimensioning, design, calculations, welding, profile filling and pressure tests. The tank was installed in Kvarteret Linnéan, Järvastaden in Solna.
