The new system from Uponor achieves both. Moreover, it’s incredibly user-friendly. Automatic monitoring alerts a sewer service company, which then dispatches a vacuum truck to empty the chambers. It’s as straightforward as it gets!"

The Vortex chambers are designed to capture sediments and pollutants, preventing harmful substances from entering Denmark’s natural water bodies.

Strategic design for better results

In Hjallerup, the chambers are strategically placed upstream of a wet stormwater basin, treating runoff from a 20-hectare urban catchment area. By purifying stormwater before it reaches the basin, the system reduces maintenance costs and enhances performance.

Peter Winther Hamborg explains: "Previously, we treated the water after it passed through the basin. With the new Vortex chambers, treatment begins upstream. This improves purification and makes maintenance more efficient and cost-effective."
