Jurica Kovac, International Water Association Fellow, and Director at Aqua Libera Ltd

Jurica Kovac is in the water business for 30 years. He has been a key person in projects related to the preparation and implementation of strategies for water loss management in public water supply systems, water loss control activities, training, equipment selection in +100 water utilities in the Southeast Europe. Jurica is a member of the International Water Association and was recognised in 2014 as IWA Fellow for his results in promotion of best practice IWA methodology for water loss reduction. Today he is a member of the Management Committee of the IWA Water Loss Specialist Group and active as consultant in Aqua Libera and partner in Smart Aqua company dedicated to solutions in digital transformation of water utilities.

 

Dragan Savic FREng, Chief Executive Officer, KWR Water Research Institute (Netherlands) and Professor of Hydroinformatics, University of Exeter (UK)

Dragan Savić is Chief Executive Officer at KWR Water Research Institute based in the Netherlands and Professor of Hydroinformatics at the University of Exeter in the UK. Professor Savić is an international expert in smart water systems with over 35 years of experience working in engineering, academia and research consultancy. His work has resulted in patentable innovation and spinout companies. In addition to innovation and leadership skills, he is known for believing in and practising "bridging science and practice" in the wider water sector and utilities in general.

Chris Evans, Chief Operations Officer at Detection Services

Chris has enjoyed a diverse career spanning over 25 years working across the Water Management, Consulting, and Coal Seam Gas industries both here in Australia and the UK. Prior to moving to Australia and joining Detection Services, Chris spent 15 years years working in Wales notably for Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, leading  multi-disciplinary teams in the most populated part of South Wales and in Australia with Urban Utilities, Sunwater, LinkWater to name a few and holds numerous industry qualifications which were accumulated along the way.

Chris holds the position of Chief Operating Officer with Detection Services where he directs all aspects of the operational strategies and initiatives to deliver sustainable water management, drive organisational vision and to grow the Detection Services team nationally and internationally  Chris holds a Post Grad in Maintenance Management from QLD University, a Diploma in Project Management, Australian Institute of Management and is currently studying for MBA, Australian Institute of Business.

Vangelis Balokas, Technical Director Olympios S.A.

Vangelis Balokas holds a degree in Computer Science. In 2000 he was employed in Olympios Group of Companies, a leading group in the water sector in Greece and Cyprus. During the years he has served as a field technician, a technical consultant, and as Chief Technical Officer the last 8 years. He has worked as a project manager in Greece and abroad, designing solutions for the complete water cycle, such as metering, data logging, AMR/AMI systems, advanced pressure management systems, active leakage control, SCADA systems, and software.

 

Victor Pinedo – Senior Business Development Manager at GF Piping Systems

Victor Pinedo is a Senior Business Development Manager at Georg Fischer. He is mainly taking responsibility on NeoFlow portfolio in EMEA region. He has worked for more than 22 years in the water sector with direct contact to Water Utilities. Very interested in getting direct customer contacts to explore new business opportunities and ways to improve water network performance applying technology and innovative ideas.
