GF Piping Systems pioneers the first infrared welded PVC-U piping system

GF Piping Systems has been pioneering high-performance PVC piping systems since 1955. The company developed the infrared welded PVC-U pressure piping system to allow a machine-controlled process, minimizing the risk of human error while making reliable, reproducible joints. This new jointing technology for PVC-U uses no cement, contributing to environmental protection while improving chemical resistance.
Jens Frisenborg, Head of Business Unit Industry & Utility at GF Piping Systems, confirms, "Offering an alternative jointing technology for PVC-U systems is another innovative step towards an improved process reliability and a safer work environment for our customers. The new system consists of the necessary weldable fittings, valves and pipes designed for an operating pressure of 16 bar. In the beginning, two metric dimensions, d25 and d50 will be available. The welding process offers integrated quality control and traceability for each joint. Existing IR machines can be updated to process the new IR PVC-U system.
