As data centers evolve to meet the rising demands of AI and high-performance computing, GF Industry and Infrastructure Flow Solutions, a division of Georg Fischer AG, reinforces its position as a trusted partner for sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions through a new collaboration in Japan, providing its pre-insulated COOL-FIT solution for a data center testbed.

GF contributes to the development of the “Products Engineering Hub for Data Center Cooling” by NTT FACILITIES, one of Japan’s leading engineering and design firms for mission-critical infrastructure. The new facility, which opened in April 2025, will serve as a testbed and demonstration site for next-generation cooling technologies, supporting the industry-wide shift from traditional chiller-based systems to more sustainable, chiller-less architectures such as direct liquid cooling (DLC).

To enable efficient thermal management, GF is supplying its advanced pre-insulated piping systems – COOL-FIT 2.0 and COOL-FIT 4.0 – for the facility water loop. These solutions form part of GF’s comprehensive offering for full cooling loops, supporting infrastructure needs from the facility level to rack-level cooling systems.

“Our partnership with NTT FACILITIES reflects our commitment to working side-by-side with customers to build smarter, more sustainable data center infrastructure,” said Wolfgang Dornfeld, President Business Unit APAC. “Cooling is a critical factor in AI-ready data centers, and our polymer-based systems ensure performance, reliability, and energy efficiency, exactly where it matters most.”

While the current installation focuses on the efficient transport of facility water, GF offers a complete portfolio of polymer-based solutions for the entire cooling infrastructure, from chiller to chip. The COOL-FIT system combines low thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and fast installation, helping operators reduce energy losses, improve uptime, and ensure safe and reliable operation in mission-critical environments.

This collaboration highlights GF’s commitment to customer proximity and co-creation, working closely with customers like NTT FACILITIES, to develop tailored solutions that meet both performance and sustainability targets.

About NTT FACILITIES, INC. and the Engineering Hub

NTT FACILITIES, INC., a subsidiary of the NTT Group headquartered in Tokyo (Japan), provides planning, design, construction, and operations for complex infrastructure such as data centers, telecommunications hubs, and energy systems for data centers.

The “Products Engineering Hub for Data Center Cooling”, located in Tokyo (Japan), will simulate real-world operating environments for a variety of air- and liquid-based cooling systems. It will feature Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), hybrid dry coolers, and other equipment to evaluate performance, enable training, and foster collaboration with partners across the industry. The facility also serves as a showroom and innovation platform, positioning NTT FACILITIES at the forefront of chiller-less, energy-optimized data center cooling technologies.
