GF Piping Systems India: 30% of the plant's electricity harnessed from the roof
In a further step to reduce the CO₂ footprint, in line with its Strategy 2025, GF Piping Systems India installed solar panels to account for approximately a gigawatt-hour per year.
GF Piping Systems is committed to enabling the safe and sustainable transport of water, gas, and chemicals. The industry sustainability leader installed a solar energy system with 2239 modules on its production site and warehouse roof. The panels have a capacity of 750 KWp and will reduce GF Piping Systems India's CO₂ emissions by approximately 1000 tons per year.
"Implementing solar cells on the rooftops of our production plant is another milestone in line with our Strategy 2025, which commits us to reduce our CO₂e emissions by 21% until 2025", states Shekhar Jagtap, Managing Director of GF Piping Systems India. “Electricity makes up around 50% of total energy consumption at GF Piping Systems India and is thus an important lever to reduce operational greenhouse gas emissions. In the next phase, we will install additional panels for 250 kWp in 2023 to further increase the share of renewable energy in the future.”
