GF Piping Systems wins the Swiss Real Estate Award with the innovative Hycleen Automation System

10/31/22 - 8:00 PM (Indochina Time)

The leading flow solutions provider received the Swiss Real Estate Award in the category "Manufacturer Innovation" for the Hycleen Automation System, which improves the energy efficiency of drinking water systems.

The Swiss Real Estate Award is presented annually for outstanding achievements in the Swiss construction and real estate industry. The submitted products are evaluated according to their innovation, sustainability, originality, service offers, customer benefits, the plausibility of their marketing and sales strategies, and their user-oriented architecture.

"In times when energy consumption and hygiene are major focuses globally, and with more than 884 million people globally still not having access to safe drinking water, this award highlights how our Hycleen Automation System and our wider portfolio can help solve many of these challenges today," states Christopher Dühnen, Head of Business Unit Building Technology, GF Piping Systems. "As a sustainability and innovation leader, we continue to strive to develop technology that offers residential and commercial building owners, such as apartment buildings, hotels and healthcare facilities a highly innovative solution for providing clean water and improved energy efficiency for life."

GF Piping Systems developed the Hycleen Automation System to improve the energy efficiency of drinking water systems, provide more comfort for t users, and make the system more hygienic. The system's sensors continuously monitor temperatures and water flow within the piping system. They transmit this data to a central control unit – the "Master" - for processing. Depending on the measured values and the previously configured criteria and limits (e.g., duration of the stagnation, minimum temperature, etc.), the master adjusts the digitally actuated circulation valves or initiates the flushing of the cold water line. As a result, the system achieves constantly optimized, demand-driven operating conditions that are otherwise only found for a limited time in new constructions.

The Hycleen Automation System actively ensures lower energy and water consumption, cost savings, and fewer CO2 emissions. It is important to understand that drinking water in most of today's buildings is responsible for up to 40% of the heating energy. Another benefit is the increased safety for every person in the building, the legal assurance for operators and owners, and the improved comfort of a fast and consistent temperature availability.
