In 1998 DEKA, already active in engineering and manufacturing plastic pipe systems for 50 years, was integrated into the GF Corporation. Over 100 employees manufacture and process the plastic pipes and fittings in a variety of dimensions and materials, such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride (chlorinated and unplasticized), at the German production site in Dautphetal-Mornshausen. To produce these as well as customized products required for industrial plant engineering – especially for demanding chemical applications -, GF DEKA operates modern, high-performance machinery, such as specified extrusion systems and computer-controlled mixing equipment.
Georg Fischer DEKA GmbH, Dautphetal-Mornshausen (Germany)
Georg Fischer Fluorpolymer Products GmbH, Ettenheim (Germany)
At the German production facility in Ettenheim, GF Piping Systems manufactures fluoropolymer components and valves for piping systems in such demanding sectors as the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries or chemical process engineering. Approximately 50 people are employed in assembly, machining, extrusion and injection moulding at this site. The plastic processing plant in Ettenheim has one of the most advanced in the world and also the largest clean room production in Europe. GF Fluoropolymer Products GmbH was created from the joint venture Georg Fischer Simona Fluorpolymer Products GmbH launched in 2002. In 2008 GF Piping Systems took over a 50% share of Simona AG, thus strengthening its position as a supplier of high-purity piping systems for microelectronics.
Georg Fischer TPA S. R. L., Busalla (Italy)
By acquiring a majority stake in Tecno Plastic S.p.A. Busalla, GF
Piping Systems has also run a production operation for PVC and PP pipe
systems and fittings in Italy since 1999. Following the merger
with Alprene, Bologna in 2006, two additional manufacturing facilities
were integrated in the northern Italian site in Busalla in 2009. The
plant, which in the meantime has been expanded to 17 000
m2, produces valves and fittings sold under the Georg
Fischer name as well as TP brand products. Over 120 people are
employed for GF TPA in Busalla, located near Genoa, where they operate
approx. 38 injection moulding machines.
Georg Fischer Omicron S.r.l., Caselle di Selvazzano (Italy)
Since 1967, in Caselle di Selvazzano near Padua in northern Italy, conventional fusion machines for pipes and fittings in gas and water distribution as well as in plumbing and industrial applications have been developed, produced and marketed. The acquisition and integration of Omicron in 1999 allowed GF to strategically expand the existing product offering of infrared, butt fusion and electrofusion machines for PE, PP and PVDF piping systems and successfully grow their system and component business. A staff of about 50, specialized in pipe jointing technology, is employed at the production facility of GF Omicron. The Italian site is the global competence centre for plastic fusion processes and equipment within the GF Piping Systems Group.
Georg Fischer Pfci, Valeggio sul Mincio (Italy)
Since 2001 GF Pfci in Valeggio sul Mincio has been one of three development and production facilities located in Italy. Multi-layer composite pipes and special brass fittings for water, gas and heating systems in building technology applications are manufactured by about 50 employees at the Italian site in the province of Verona and subsequently shipped throughout the world.
Georg Fischer Waga N.V., Epe (Netherlands)
At the Dutch production location in Epe, GF Waga has developed, produced and marketed high-quality jointing technologies for piping systems in gas and water supply since 1957. The staff numbering about 30 manufactures couplings, flange and compression joints as well as adapter systems, which make sure that distribution pipelines and house connections are joined safely and reliably. GF Waga supplies jointing solutions for new installations, extensions or network maintenance and repair to customers in gas and water management worldwide.
Georg Fischer Fittings GmbH, Traisen (Austria)
For over a century, GF Fittings has been producing malleable iron threaded fittings for steel pipes at the Austrian production facility in Traisen. The location, at which about 500 people are employed, manufactures ca. 14,000 tons annually and is the competence centre within the Group for this time-tested jointing technology. The strong and long-lasting products are distributed throughout the world, where they are primarily used in plumbing, heating and gas installations, in refrigeration, air conditioning and sprinkler systems as well as in mechanical and plant engineering and commercial vehicle construction.
Georg Fischer Piping Systems, Schaffhausen (Switzerland)
The Schaffhausen production plant is located at the headquarters of the GF Piping Systems Group, founded in 1802. In this plant, which also includes manufacturing of GF Wavin AG and GF Building Services AG, products in diverse plastic materials are fabricated for each of the three business areas: Industry, Utilities and Building Services. Over 200 people are employed in the manufacture, machining and assembly of sockets, brackets, unions and fittings. Besides R&D and production, the site also operates a distribution centre for warehousing and distributing the plastic piping systems throughout the world.
Georg Fischer Wavin AG, Schaffhausen (Switzerland)
The Swiss production site of GF Wavin AG in Schaffhausen is also located at the headquarters of the GF Piping Systems Group, founded in 1802. Over 200 people are employed in the manufacture, machining and assembly of sockets, elbows, brackets, tees, unions and electrofusion fittings made of polyethylene. Schaffhausen is the second production facility of GF Wavin AG besides Subingen, Switzerland which supplies mainly gas and water utilities with products for their piping systems. GF Wavin AG is a joint venture founded in 1999 between GF Piping Systems Ltd. and the Dutch firm Wavin N.V, of which Georg Fischer holds a 60% majority stake.
Georg Fischer Kunststoffarmaturen AG, Seewis (Switzerland)
At the Swiss production site in Seewis GF Plastic Valves has manufactured manual and actuated valves since 1969; the valves are used for fluid control and measurement in piping systems. Approximately 1.5 million valves are produced annually by about 150 employees in the legally independent production plant of the Georg Fischer Corporation. Because of their high quality and modular design, the valves are shipped throughout the world from Seewis and implemented in demanding applications in water treatment, environmental technology, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, food industry, semiconductor manufacturing and drinking water distribution.
Georg Fischer JRG AG, Sissach (Switzerland)
GF JRG Company produces hygienic drinking water installation systems, zero static valves made of red brass and solutions for thermal disinfection in Sissach, Switzerland.
