Georg Fischer JRG presents innovative system solutions for building technology at ISH 2011 from March 15 to 19. The stand F 57 in Hall 4.0 occupies 300 sq.m. floor space and features a new design. The exhibition focus is on comfortable, hygienic and sustainable applications for plumbing and heating installations. Live demonstrations of many new products and applications are another attraction. The new iJOINT compression joint for water supply will be premiering at ISH. This new compression fitting made of polypropylene is another innovation from the house of Georg Fischer. Rounding off the product showcase at ISH is the new diaphragm valve for industry, which has already won several awards for its revolutionary technology.

On March 16 and 17, GF JRG is hosting a symposium on the subject of “Drinking water hygiene in hospitals and the liability of planning engineers“ in the Congress Center on the fairgrounds. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Zastrow, member of the board of the German Society for Hospital Hygiene, and Thomas Herrig, attorney specializing in building and architectural law, will discuss various aspects of actual cases.

JRGUTHERM 2T

In hospitals, apartment buildings and hotels, proper circulation of drinking water is vital. The circulation controller JRGUTHERM 2T facilitates circulation calculation and is maintenance-free. Using this controller saves energy because heating stages are significantly reduced.  

The JRGUTHERM 2T regulates the volume flow of two operating states (circulation operation and thermal disinfection operation) via seat valves; as a result the controller is not susceptible to malfunctions. The two operating states are each regulated by a thermostat. For circulation operation, the temperature can be set between 36°C and 60°C and for thermal disinfection between 70°C and 75°C. All water-conveying parts are made of red brass, copper, chrome steel or high-quality plastic (PPSU).

New improved Sanipex Classic – angle seat valves with loose nut

To enable shorter installation lengths, the Sanipex Classic system has been supplemented with two special angle seat valves. It is now possible to replace the existing top part with a KRV top (combined with return flow inhibitor). Also, a bore for drain valves was added, which can be equipped with a close-off plug.

The valves are suitable for all Sanipex Classic applications up to PN 16 and 90°C. A Sanipex Classic torque wrench is available for mounting on both sides. The angle seat valves with stagnant-free JRG LegioStop tops have a transition to JRG Sanipex with a loose nut on one side and the regular Sanipex contour on the other. The threaded connectors for the drain valves are closed off with a 3/8“ plug. The housing consists of red brass and has a polished, non-rising valve stem and a valve seat made of stainless steel. The seals are made of EPDM and the handwheel is plastic.

Sampling valve

To supplement the GF JRG valve program, we are pleased to present another article in the range of valves. The sampling valve has a metal-to-metal seal and serves to take water samples for chemical and microbiological analyses according to relevant norms and standards. The stainless steel outlet elbow is flame treatable for disinfection purposes.

Pre-insulated pipes per EnEV

Georg Fischer JRG has expanded its ML pipe offering with pre-insulated multi-layer composite pipes, for greater energy saving and reduction of CO² emissions. They are primarily used in drinking water installations as well as feed lines to radiators and heating connections.
The insulation not only complies with DIN 1988-2 (Table 9), but also meets the stringent requirements of EnEV 2009 (energy saving ordinance). According to this, insulation is also compulsory for cold distributors and cold water pipelines in ventilation and air conditioning technology similar to heat distribution pipes.

The insulation we use in our piping systems has the advantage that it fulfills the DIN EN ISO 12667 requirement for thermal conductivity (0.035 W/mK), thereby satisfying the highest insulation requirements for piping systems.

In addition, the new insulation has had a positive effect on fire protection so that we now comply with the “flame resistant” classification of building materials class B-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1. This is equivalent to the former building materials class B1 according to DIN 4201, e.g. the material does not develop smoke or burning droplets.
