There are several critical areas within power plants that are instrumental to the operating efficiency of the plant and to process reliability. In addition to flue gas desulfurization (FGD), these are notably water treatment systems, chemical handling and cooling systems. In accordance with the requirements in this field, GF Piping Systems is showcasing its experiences and solutions for building and servicing corrosion-free plastic piping systems in power plants. Special attention will be devoted to water treatment processes.
Practically predestined for use in power plants is the Double Containment System, which, due to its inherent design, is particularly suitable for conveying critical media in sensitive areas, thus greatly minimizing operating risk. The principle behind the reliable and safe jointing technology used on double containment systems is to initially join the inner pipe. When a leak test has been completed, the outer pipe is joined with electrofusion, for which GF Piping Systems carries the ideal Elgef Plus system in its product range. To complement the information offering at the trade fair, GF Piping Systems is offering a plastic fusion workshop with the butt fusion machine WM 315 at its stand. Similarly high demands are placed on the safe transport of liquids and gases in the growth sector of photovoltaic applications. GF Piping Systems will also be presenting state-of-the-art piping system technology for this sector at Power Plant Technology in Hanover.
