ChlorFIT™ from Georg Fischer is a highly robust complete piping system ideal for commercial potable water applications. The CPVC Corzan® material is designed to handle a wide range of operating temperatures from 32⁰F to 160⁰F making it suitable for both the hot and cold water lines. Today, in the US, the most common disinfectant

method for potable water is chlorination. Chlorinated water, however, over the long run, can attack piping systems, leading to failures in just a few years. Other plastic piping systems such as some polypropylene materials are susceptible to these types of failures. Metals are also susceptible to corrosion and pose a variety of challenges such as labor-intensive installations, cost of material, and insulation requirements.

The ChlorFIT™ system is complete with pipe, valves and fittings. A key component to the system is the grooved mechanical joining system. Mechanical joints are more convenient for certain installations such as tight spaces. More importantly, the grooved system allows for fast repairs where extended downtime is not an option. ChlorFIT™ has a ICC-ES PMG E84 25/50 plenum fire rating which is a common requirement. Overall with its ease of installation, multiple joining technologies, and corrosion resistance, ChlorFIT™ is a reliable and cost effective solution for commercial water installations. It is always recommended to be factory trained prior to installation.
