GF is well on track to achieving its social sustainability targets. Further efforts are needed to improve the environmental indicators. This can be seen in the latest Sustainability Report:
The year 2016 marked the beginning of the implementation of the 2016–2020 sustainability targets. The 2016 interim report shows: GF has made further progress on achieving social targets. For example, on a like-for-like basis the accident rate decreased by 10%, which was largely the result of GF Automotive’s “Zero Risk” safety campaign.
With regard to environmental targets, GF posted a rise in energy consumption. This is mainly due to the integration of data from recently acquired companies, most notably GF Hakan Plastik in Turkey. On a like-for-like basis, the increase in CO2 emissions was 0.5% year-on-year. Consistent implementation of GF standards in all companies will offset the increase. The most energy- and CO2-intensive division GF Automotive was able to decrease its CO2 emissions by 2%.
GF publishes its sustainability figures annually. A comprehensive report is published every two years. The next comprehensive report will be issued in 2018.
